Step by Step setup for Microsoft Outlook Express 5.0


All Email Tutorials - Step-by-Step Email POP Help

The following document will help guide you through the step by step process on the setup of this email client. Please read this document very carefully for proper setup. Contact your Mail Administrator for your particular settings.

1. Open Outlook.

2. Click on "Tools", then click on "Accounts."

3. The Internet Accounts screen will appear. Click on "Add," to setup your new account.

4. Slide the bar over and click on "Mail."

5. The Internet Connection Wizard screen will appear. Enter your Display name. For example: John Smith.

6. Click on "next" when completed.

7. Enter you Internet Email Address. For example: User@ServiceName.zzn.com

(Note: User@ServiceName.zzn.com, the @ symbol separates the username from the domain name and has NO SPACES between any characters, numbers or symbols.)

8. Click on "next" when completed.

NOTE: The above entries are only examples. Do Not use these settings. Contact your Mail Administrator for your particular settings.

9. Enter the Email Server names screen will appear. For My incoming mail server is a "POP3" server. Choose "POP3."

10. Enter the incoming mail (POP3) server name.

The Mail Server (Incoming) will be: apop.zzn.com

(NOTE: Please do NOT enter empty spaces between any characters, numbers or symbols.)

11. Enter the outgoing mail (SMTP) server name.

The SMTP Server (Outgoing) will be: smtp.anybusinessname.com (where anybusinessname = Your Domain Name.)

12. Click on "next" when completed.

13. The Internet Mail Logon screen will appear. Enter your Account name in the appropriate box. Your Account name is your full ZZN email address, e.g. User@ServiceName.zzn.com

14. Now enter your password. You can have Outlook remember your password, check the box for this feature.

15. Using the Secure Authentication feature is dependent on your ISP's server configuration.

16. Click on "next" when completed.

17. The Congratulations! Screen will appear. Click on Finish.

18. Click on "Close" to complete the setup process.

19. Congratulations! You have successfully setup Outlook 98 as your new email client for POP mail.
