Summary:
I've
had this notebook for 3 days. What a great deal. I love the
display and speed of this laptop. wireless signs right in.
only 2 draw backs are weak battery and the speakers, but I
knew this before I bought it from input from other reviews and
would still buy this again..

Summary:
Amazing quality. The AMD CPU is a little
powerhouse at 1.8Ghz. This stylish laptop preforms extreamly
well. Dont let this one pass you by. You wont find anything
comprable for the price.

Summary:
Didn't expect the HD to be partitioned 50/50.
Since 25GB is what I normally use for the OS anyway, it saved
me some work. I wish more companies would partition the drive
initially. The price was right, even without the rebate.
Needed an inexpensive laptop my son could work on without
worrying about his destructive tendencies. Turned out to be
faster than the wife's new laptop, which was more than double
the price. Bootup time was faster, too. No stability issues so
far, even when run for hours straight. Though skeptical, the
512MB RAM and 60G HD (default) were sufficient for my meager
requirements. Definitely not a gaming laptop, but works fine
for normal business-type use.

I just got mine, It's great... the best bang for your buck,
512 Memory 60 GIG HARDDRIVE and crystal brite screen.. not to
mention it's light to carry.. Con: Battery life 1.5hrs on full
charge.. #Item A180-1066 a must for an upgrade 2.5 to 3.0hrs
of battery life.. This item has to be the best laptop I've
ever purchased.

Summary:
The
only thing that I didn't like about the computer is the
factory automatically partitions the hard drive 50/50 - that
was easy to fix though - other then that, I love this
laptop!!! Great and have told everyone that they need to get
one!!!!!

Summary:
I
bought the laptop to use around the house with my wireless
network. I have had the laptop for a week and I have been
impressed so far. It is tough to find a machine with the same
hardware for the price. My only complaint is the battery life.
I dont get much more than an hour with the battery so I
usually have it plugged in. If you can find a better battery
then I would buy it.

E-X-C-E-L-L-E-N-T ! Bought the one with 40 GB
and 256. Added another 512MB and its a great! notebook. Runs
perfect! I'm so satisfied with that one. And the price is

Summary:
I am
a school teacher who needed to replace a Gateway Computer
laptop and did not want to invest a house payment! I am not
well versed in ''jargon'' but I knew I wanted wireless lan,
portability, a large hard drive and a good processing system
as well as the ability for a quick Internet connection, and
the ability to transfer my files from school and work at home.
This lap top fits the specs! After backing up the computer I
was indeed online within 2 minutes on my wireless hub at home.
I had to load my Microsoft products for processing and
powerpoint but so far it fits the bill. I am not concerned
with the speakers being low. I have the USB ports I need and
the screen is large and the keyboard comfortable. I found the
reviews here to be the deciding factor in buying this laptop.
This is my first Acer and so far I am impressed. The price
fits my teacher budget.

Summary:
I
purchased this Acer laptop after getting one for my daughter
for college. It is fast and performs as well - if not better
than some of the more expensive units. Its a great deal with
lots of style and functionality. I've been purchasing from
Tiger Direct for more than 6 years and have always been a very
satified customer. They even work with you in the rare
instance you should need to return something that doesn't
perform properly.

Wow,
what a deal. Some of the other reviews talk about boosting
speed with more RAM, but I guess that depends on what you are
used to running! This machine is very fast with the 512 Meg of
RAM it comes with, and the display is the nicest I have ever
seen on a notebook. Everything works as advertised, and there
are plenty of USB ports for mice and keyboards, etc. The
battery life does kinda suck, but at this price I don't mind
buying an extended life battery to go with it. The machine is
very big and will not fit a standard notebook case, so make
sure you are getting one that it will fit in. All in all, you
can't beat this deal, and Acer has been building PC's almost
as long as IBM, so I am very compfortable with my choice. Grab
One Quick!

Bought this as a Mother's Day present for my
mom and she was blown away. It has a rich, sturdy feel and
works flawlessly. I was blown away, too. Great specifications
for the price. Stellar performance. The included 512MB RAM
makes Windows works much better than other laptops in this
price range, which typically offer only half as much memory.
The screen is absolutely beautiful. Definitely one of the best
laptops I've seen. If I had to mention a ''con'' it is that
Acer for some reason formats the hard disk with FAT32 instead
of NTFS.

so glad I took advantage of this offer! This is ABSOLUTELY the
best laptop deal ever. Everybody else is offering a 1.6 Ghz
processor, 14 inch monitor, half as much memory and only a 40
gig hard drive for this price. If you want a laptop, this is
far and away the BEST deal!

Summary:
Acer
has always made a decent product. This is the first I've seen
in thier laptop line. I just recieved my system a few days ago
and so far im quite impressed over all. Only time will tell of
course. The Operating system is installed on FAT32 partitions
and should be converted to NTFS for performance boost. The LCD
is very crisp and clear and great for watching movies. The
audio level is a little light. If you want to rock out you
need amplified external speakers. Even using decent headphones
the volume level is easy to get drowned out by room noise. The
Wireless and the ethernet both worked great. I was surfing
within minutes using either type of connection. A great bang
for your buck!

Summary:
Nice
laptop for a good low price. Listing could have given the
diminsions, wouldn't fit my bag. Shows and has a VGA port in
the back, but does not have a mouse/keyboard connection. Would
have perferred to have this option
also.

Summary:
I've
been building my own PC's for 6 years with great success &
always wanted a laptop but couldn't find a decent &
affordable system configuration for the price. This notebook
is very nice right out of the box. I installed a high end 3D
graphics game called Unreal Tournament game of year just for a
test, & to my surprise this game ran better then I
expected. I didn't think the game would run at all with the
system config, but it did. I really didn't expect much from
this notebook, I was proven wrong. I will eventually upgrade
this puppy with 1gb of ram & a 7200 rpm hard drive just
for fun & even better performance. The only con is the
battery life. Great deal for the
price.

Summary:
Extremely impressed with the quality and
price of this Acer notebook. Worked right out of the box and
was handshaking with my wireless network immediately. The AMD
Sempron processor is very fast and efficient. I did install
the 512MB memory upgrade. This in not the low end Aspire. It
has many upgrades including a beautiful 15.4 inch display (no
dead pixels), faster processor and larger hard drive. Manual
indicates a battery life of 3.5 hours - currently getting 2
hours. Sound system is the only downside - built in speakers
are very small but excellent quality with earphones. Tiger
Direct delivered in one day!

A
fantastic deal for the price. I’ve been nothing but an Intel
believer for many years and I’m very impressed with the speed
of the AMD Sempron processor. The 512k memory upgrade is a
must. Blue Tooth/WiFi works great for your wireless
environment. Great rebate offers and customer service. If
there is con to this system, it’s the life of the battery
which is very short. Maybe some full discharges of the battery
before recharge will help this out.

is a great laptop! It has no problems with pre-installed
Windows XP, and the Linux support is decent, although the
wireless does not work with Linux very well (I got a PCMCIA
card and it works great!) Very good for the
price!

Summary:
I'm
a computer tech...I've seen some pretty poor excuses for
laptops (ie. Dell, HP...won't ever buy those again), but with
this Acer I'm VERY impressed so far. I wasn't expecting much
for the price, but was fortunately proven wrong. Its fast and
the glitches i expected are not there. If ya have a tight
budget but need a laptop...i highly recommend this
one.
